What we do

Employment Law

Our employment team advises public and private clients on all aspects of the employment relationship from recruitment to termination and all the issues that arise in between. Our team anticipates problems before they arise to ensure that the appropriate steps have been taken to prevent workplace issues arising. We operate on the policy of prevention being far better than cure where possible.

Our lawyers advise on recruitment, drafting employment contracts, drafting staff handbooks and policies and procedures tailor-made to suit the particular business’ needs.  The employment department also advises on business transfers (TUPE) and works closely with the other departments within the firm to ensure that a full complement of services is provided to our clients to meet all their business’ needs.

We understand that it is not always possible to prevent workplace difficulties and offer client focussed assistance in company disputes, shareholder agreements, disciplinary investigations to name but a few.

We advise throughout the litigation process should matters become contentious.  Our lawyers regularly attend at the Rights Commissioner, the Labour Court, the Equality Tribunal, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Circuit Court and the High Court to represent our clients’ interests before each forum.

Irish and European employment law are evolving on a daily basis with the volume and complexity of legislation introduced to protect employees constantly increasing. We assist our clients in meeting the challenges that sometimes arise in adapting their workplaces to comply with the ever evolving legislation in the area.
